they say the funds that were performing at no 1, 2 and 3 may not be doing the same way down the years.

can we have selection of stocks that call for minimum monthly investment so everyone can participate.

My experience is if the stock/ Fund gives above average returns in one year, it will continue giving high returns in 2nd,3rd year also.....Fund ranking may change but still they will produce high profits.....example : HDFC Midcap Fund, Franklin Templeton Prima Fund, ICICI Value Discovery Fund.

You mean monthly SIP ? We can have another fund with monthly SIP of say 10000-30000 and monitor that separately...

Peoples participation is most welcome and we decide scrips also based on members participation .We are all learning here..no one is expert fund manager so we will learn by doing things...

Great idea :thumb:
Btw I read ur post on general chat.
Is to put together a single fund or different "fund managers" will moderate their own?
Sorry missed ur post..Yeah single fund based on discussion with all.
In smallcase however they don't allow me to make the privately created smallcase public.
But each of you can create your own based on what we decide here.
It's pretty straight forward.

I will keep updating with screenshot perodically ahere as to what is the current status here so everybody on same page...

Will it be like a Large cap fund, mid cap or small cap. Would like to know the basis of HCL tech.

We can select best performing company from each sector. Sector allocation can be different.

On what basis are we selecting stocks on the basis of fundamental, technical or techno fundamental.
Good question ...Everything allowed no discrimination the goal is to create best performing fund...But ofcourse fund safety is important too which needs to be weighed against potential return when going for small cap vs medium/large cap.
And yes I also prefer sector represtation but again no problem if we decide to include multiple stock from a single sector.

Hcltech not on the list first post is just example ...
Currently we are going to decide the stocks then we will make the fund live and track returns then onwards we will review and remove or add stocks as necessary say every quarter or every month Hope the process is clear...

ST Sir, Tata Comm has a PE ratio of 1472, how did it end up there?
is it justified or some real hidden agenda that we're not aware of ?

Lets discuss sector by Sector
We need to have 1 or max 2 from a sector
BANKS
This section include all banks.
so far suggestions in the thread are

YESBANK
RBLBANK
HDFCBANK
KOTAKBANK

I think we should select only 2 ...too many banks is not good.
The idea is to predict the top/top 2 performer in a sector if later results are bad then we switch the scrips.

With my little knowledge I know yesbank and HDFCbank are good

No idea about RBLbank any body care to elaborate

KOTAKBANK again not sure..

On another note....

Not sure what is the definition of smallcap. Too many smallcap will threaten the stability of the fund so I am thinking we keep mostly to large and midcaps.
So may be We need a rule below which we will draw a line
e.g the stock needs to have minimum 5000 Cr market cap. suggestions ???
