Hi all,

I have an query but dont know whether its a right section or not ?

I want to purchase HARIGO CRANKSHAFT shares so i went online to sharekhan & try to purchase under BSE. But i get rejected.

Then i called them & they say that its under Upper circuit so i can not able to buy them.

Please can someone guide me about the upper circuit shares..

Like What is this ? & its able to purchase those shares?

Thanks in advance.

It's also called buyer's circuilt.
This happens when there's very few people(or no one) wants to sell or no sellers.
Lower circuit or Seller's circuit.
This happens when there's very few people(or no one) wants to buy.

An upper circuit is the percentage price beyond which a stock price is not allowed to go on that particular day ..say for example a stock have upper circuit as 5%, in a given day it can not go beyond that price...after open value the price can go up to only 5% not beyond it.

lower circuit is same ..but at lower end it can not go below it.

can we buy or not ?

just place market order .....if some one come and sell you will get it ..if not, your order will automatically get cancel at the end of the day (in cash market ) .

sorry for bumping...but how can one know particular stocks have circuit limits???

Say when satyam failed..shares went 90% down......at that time no circuit restriction was on it....
Today it has 10% circuit limit as soon as it touches we cant trade in it...how is it i m suppose to know particular stock has 5%,10% or 20% limit??
