Merely allocating funds say 2 laks/5 laks would not take us anywhere....options more than anything else is about timing the markets....
option's are never a good option to make a living out of markets, use them only to hedge or use them only when you are certain(again only trade on what you can afford to lose)....
And this is one of the main reason most of the hardcore traders, prefer futures/cash above options....NSE daily turnover can proove the same, else most traders would only be trading options and not fut/cash markets....

For me options are fortunes with less money if you combine with tech.Analysis
then even with just 10-15k and before few days of expiry you can make lakhs of rupees.Yes I know people loose money even i do but learn from mistakes and keep learning tech analysis. This week I traded with 60k and profit was around 32k.My selection of stocks were

hindalco
Triveni engg
reliance
sail
rnrl
sterlite
cairn

options/futures/stocks/margins all are tools you should know which tool you want to use when/and why/how and whether it suits your trading style ?

And i myself have tried options a lot in earlier months of my trading career and lemme tell u its never easy money. So many factors need to be looked at and most times market makers make all the money(casino never loses).

So now i rarely venture into options and have found safe haven in daytrading and futures...

Option is like electricity(or god), if you believe...it's there very much, if you dont ...it's never there, you can make fortune out of this, it's purely your grey matter(intelligence). You can make or loose it's up to you, options is itself not bad or good...For me with out electicity I can not think a world :)

Exactly :thumb: Personally I have had much more sustained success with long term option trading (mostly selling) than anything else.

Another advantage with options is that the STT charges are almost negligible compared to futures..
