Hi all

From longterm investment point-of-view, does it make good sense to pick up Satyam, now since Mr.Raju is out and Mr.Mahindra is in...

Will appreciate opinions

Thanks

Re: Satyam

Hi,
If Satyam gets back to it's former highs as Mahindra Satyam then there is great profit possibilities over the medium and longer term.

It has been moving steadily and nicely for me at least.

Issues is that the accounts have to be re-done again as someone was not satisfied.

Mahindra polled the existing customers who all said they were happy dealing with Satyam and preferred to keep the Satyam name.

Mahindra wants to look at smaller contracts to consolidate and start rebuilding new business. This is what you need to keep an eye on is that they are building new business and that the whole Satyam problems are put behind them after the legal proceedings are over. Mahindra claim that any payouts are already factored into their plan.

My opinion is that the new management are capable of carrying this company forward profitably and successfully. Invest tentatively now, and add when there is good news and breakouts, keeping careful stops in the near term.

Hope this helps.

Re: Satyam

If Mahindra Satyam(MS) is able to recover the money taken out by Mr Raju & Mr Mahindra is able to retain [ even if not grow ] the then existing business then MS will be one of the top five IT companies of India

Mahindra Satyam is still good....now 4get about raju stuff as thats old news.....
It was the perfect stock according to warren buffet theory buy when others sell....many ppl at 400 price sold at 120....but they all 4got its India its not easy to allow company like satyam to crash...all other companies are of satyam level.....but raju face the axe at wrong time global meltdown no one ready to give cash.....

If u have really long horizon u can invest now also...as in future once all the mess and sacking of employee is done it will be merged with tech mahindra......

But that wont happen soon atleast 2 years or more than that...as they will wait for all litigation stuff on satyam to end..as if they merge now...all companies upaid and all will ask for hefty premium for rajus misdeed....

Thankyou friends for sharing your thoughts.....

I surely think, with a very stable management of Mahindra, this company should make a good investment at current levels keeping at least 1 yr view...
