It is adebt oriented fund and should give a growth of 10- 12% on an average. It is good for people who do not want to take risk such as retired and old people. It is better than the Bank FDs as it expectedly will give a higher growth. More so, if redeemed after one year, it will be treated as long term capital gain and benefit of taxation can also be taken. So the tax liability will be much less.

You are probably referring to Reliance MIP - which invests mostly (~90%) in debt and small fraction (~10%) in equities - latter to spice up the returns. It has performed well in past. Note that it can not be used in the manner similar to FDs where returns are assured.

Probably you are referring to Reliance Mid Term Fund. It is a Money Manager fund and is used for parking funds for short periods specially if we want to invest in any of the equity mFs through Systematic Transfer Plan in small amounts at weekly/fortnoghtly/monthly or quarterly intervals. Growth in this fund is very low. You can opt for monthly dividend payout.

1. DSP BlackRock Equity
2. SBI Tax Gain

Please suggest whether these two funds are good to invest. I want to remain invested in these two funds for the period of approximately 4 years. Also please suggest me another fund in case i would like to go for one more fund.

If the tenure of you investment is less than five years the you must invest in Balanced funds.(Balanced funds invest 40% money in debt instruments and 65% in Equity instruments) you can expect 10 to 15% retuns in Balanced funds safetly.
