If u look at this from Seller's side, then it gets easier.. If somebody short sold a contract (i.e. he doesn't own it already), then increase the count.
If it is Short is closed, then reduce the count.
If Long is created (i.e. someone bought new contract), no change.
If Long is closeed (i.e. person holding long has just closed his position), no change.
