How can i calculate 200 DMA ?

I would like to calculate 200dma of Nifty myself... plz leme know the method.

Also, if you have any info. what period dma is best to use for intraday?

I am using Sharekhan TT, so if anybody knows if there's an option there in software to automatically calculate 200dma....

add previous 200 days close together and then devide by 200. simple. u will get 200 DMA. bt why u ar going for manual. every softwear automatically calculates it.

use charting software like amibroker or metastock or fcharts

Ok i am using tradetiger charts.... now there are host of studies there.... plz tellme what i have to punch-in to get the 200dma....

I think i have to slect "Averages" is it ? there are sub sections in averages namely - S,E,T,V,W.

If not above, please guide me..

Click on any scrip to get basic graph.

Right Click on the chart.

ADD study.I think (s,10) is default value. Change the value to 200.

See the graph has good number of values.

Anyway the query is too basic.

Don't use "Y" (yearly)data.Assuming data from 2001 ,you will get 11 samples.
But you are asking 200DMA. you average won't be plotted at all. For 200
DMA , you need atleast 200 samples.
So keep intraday with sample interval 0 or 1min.Later on you can tweak as
per your wish.
