Help to back up and transfer data

CSV data file can be used on other platforms too(apart from AB) and provides freedom to do Excel-based calculations and charting.
the best advantage is that one can have periodic data of his choice and quotes can be manually edited to remove freak quotes( if any) without using AB quote editor.
You don't need excel to do that. Can all be done within AB and with much higher speed.

first thanks for the very valuable piece of information.:D
but what if some one has to append few more columns of data-like FII buy sell etc for analysis?

AFL provides periodic data as per user's requirement. copying the whole data again and again is nothing but just unnecessary redundancy.
still if someone comfortable with that he should go ahead with that.

Ever heard of using multiple AA environments now in version 5.50? If that is what you are referring to. Good morning. There is a new AA implemented. Old AA does not exist anymore. Just as an addition before getting used to the new one.

What do you wanna do with your periodic data? I don't know what you wanna do. Explain examples

The thread starter's sole purpose was to backup the data, with that AFL he can backup data for any particular year or a range instead of completely copying the database.
Let him choose whatever he finds suitable.

He doesn't need to backup the whole data base. Of course he can do that too. But he also can backup just the symbols he needs without using AFLs for exports! I have already explained how to do that! Learn to read! Why should he export to csv or txt if he wants to re-use it in AB?? makes no sense.
