Guys, need some explanation about the ETFs.

Some are traded like equities and show in the demat account. They also need edis for selling.

Some have only one price a day like mutual funds and do not show in the demat.

Some can be sold immediately, where some have an exit load for 7/15/30 days ?

Please give a "for dummies" lesson.
There is no single formula for ETF's .. the mutual fund managers have made it such that even an experienced person will be made a dummy, since they keep changing the TER values and nobody-really-knows whether frontrunning the trades or what..

If you notice, most of the mutual funds cannot beat the NSE indices for more than a month.. and the ETF's also are not really tracking live prices... they say liquidity is not as much ...:confused:

Not only the TER, but sometimes they even change the benchmark index, as recently happened with Edelweiss Government Securities fund.

So with all of this, we have with ETF's and Mutual Funds:

1. liquidity problems (in ETF's) ,
2. high management fees,
3. mediocre returns as compared to the NSE / BSE Index
4. jugglery by the fund managers, changing the benchmark index
5. exit load if not stayed invested for a specific minimum duration

Plus the NAV games. It seems that the processing of allotment and redemption are largely discretionary.

As expected in last post, IF N is in the process of making a DBots around 21900 +/- , then would N bounce back towards 22330 +/- today or tomor ???
Do'nt if this bounce will sustain or not , though !

BN has a strong Sup around 46500 +/- , IF sustains then again bounce should be expected ???
"Cause below that 46k is next ???

Will LargeCaps again may be darlings of the investors ?
Personally thinks so !
