Day Trading Journal - Value Zones

#42
The levels are marked as Buy, Sell or Buy/Sell. At levels marked Buy/Sell you can take long and short trades.
Trades are executed after two minutes from open, i.e. after 9:17 and usually one trade per day. Only take the first trade that comes after open.
After open, watch the levels and current price. Only the first trade is executed. If a level says Buy and if price is above that level, then buy on a pull back to that level. If price is below that level, wait for a break above that level, and buy on a pull back to that level. If a level says Sell and if price is below that level, then sell when price reaches that level. If price is above that level, wait for a break below that level, and sell on a pull back to that level. If the level says Buy/Sell, then if price is above that level, buy on a pull back; if price is below that level, sell when price reaches that level.
Usually only one trade is executed on a day. However if stopped out in the first trade, then take the trade at the next level also. On days marked with Directional sentiment sideways, two trades can be taken, the very first trade and another trade at any of the extreme levels.
Breakout is determined on the basis of closing price on a 2 minute chart. Close should be clearly above or below the level.
Do not expect entry at the exact level, execute trades near the levels. SL is calculated from the level, not from the entry price.

Seems no one is interested except Rangrajan

Anyways nifty made 28 points and DLF made 3 points for the day.
Dear Value zone,
This thread is more like a spoon feed than a methodology/system/setup which has to be interpreted by an individual using his skill.
ie,the levels are provided by you & one has to follow it implicitly.
Of course,u r following some method to post the dependable levels.
The day u stop yr posting, the fish is eaten & how to fish in future:mad:
Perhaps, that is the reason why the response is not encouraging.

No doubt, the levels are good & profitable, but limitations r there viz dependency.

Whereas take the thread of 'Smart Trade",How to trade with an oscillator",he has clearly taught every one the parameters to analyse & trade independently with good follow ups.
Of course there are many equally similar threads in Traderji with huge followers .
Even today,i feel SAINT's thread to be mother of all threads.
Going a step further,i consider Traderji has no equals if one wants to learn & master Trading, starting from scratch.

Pl keep posting & the pleasure is ours(Naturally when money is made:))

The methodologies are quite difficult to grasp at first. Different from traditional technical analysis. Basic knowledge in Market profile concepts is needed. If any one asks questions on market profile, I am happy to answer. Remember the methodology is not purely based on Market profile, but concepts from Market profile is used.

The trade in NIFTY was sell at 5326 and reached target. DLF was a buy at 239.50 and it hit the stop loss 238.25. The low it made at that time was 238.20, it just took the stop loss and traded upward to reach our targets. Anyways lost 1.20 points.

One small addition as told by Valuezone in his blog:
NF closed exactly at 5326 at 9.17 which is a B/s level.:)
In this rare case look at next bar(9.18) & take the trade.
It was below 5326 & the ride was enjoyable as it was in profit.:thumb:

Valuezone,is it possible for u to start a thread on "Market Profile" & explain yr concept.I am sure there would be good participation.
