Dan bro,

now u have enough views, just add one more question.......

how many ppls actualy trade with the signal generated with indicator and how many time they don't get trapped.;)
dear, i am using rsi as my main indicator, since app 8 years.
if with rsi just some common sense is used(POSITION OF PREVIOUS BARS, WHICH GIVES US THE CLEAR PICTURE OF MOMENTUM)then one will never be trapped, with the help of rsi as my stand alone indicator ,i am never trapped.

i guess one never gets trapped if one follows a strict and disciplined SL.

at least, that has been my nemesis..
have been too greedy and never got out with decent profits..
finally ended up in loss from a winning position.

PRST, I found in this business it pays to have ice in your veins. The emotional part of us has to be kept in check or the game is over.

The first principle of daytrading ( or any trading for that matter) is never let the profitable trade run into a loss. If the market reverses, grab some profits...but then what is the use of stoploss ? The stoploss is for protecting us if the trade immediately on our entry goes into a loss. But once it moves in our favour.....we will not let go the profits....we may enter another trade later...but we MUST grab some profits from the current trade.

I follow this rule very strictly.....so thought of sharing...:)

Hi

What I say now, you may do not like to hear:

You have to different between indicators for shares, futures, forex and options.

In todays trading, TA indicators have no more the value they had a few years ago in future, share and forex trading.

Options are a different derivative and old indicators are still actual today.

In future, share and forex trading, old TA indicators are not as they have been.

Even than, we can use them.

You may ask now: Why should this indicators no more be the thing I was searching for and what else should be better compare to what I now learned for a long time?

As IAtma told: "Now u have enough views, just add one more question.......",

Ok,I will add one more question:

What could out perform in todays trading any indicator in future, share and forex markets, which was shown in this thread until now?

Dan, I think you just gave a good lesson.

Be set in the way you trade.
Be flexible in your way of thinking.
Stay up to date on the changing universe around trading.

If we do that, then we will be ready just in case our methodology needs some fine tuning or minor adjustments.
