Columbusji, I have just finished reading the whole thread again and even today during market hours tried trading the nifty with BB. The problem I am faced with is that once the piercing happens although it eventually reaches the other band, it is difficult to tell when it reverses. Sometime it may reverse and touch the middle band and then reverse and go against you.

Can you tell me what are your entry and exist rules? I do agree that BB is one that's better suited for intraday. EOD just doesn't work because in choppy EOD markets there's simply a red and green candle going nowhere hardly ever piercing the bands.

What I have noticed with BB with nifty is 3m TF seems to work well with 20,2 but for 5m TF it is too long. While 3mTF there is upper band piercing the 5m TF it is still in the lower band. Problem gets compounded with gap openings.

I think for 5m TF 9,2 might work well as Savantji said. However I find the in 5m TF there is a huge loss of info. So constantly looking a lower TF might be required.

The 2 consecutive green/red bar method works for 5m but not with 3m. Finding it difficult to figure out when to enter and exit.

......OFF TOPIC.....

LT,

Was down with fever again.Earlier Malaria Parasite was identified in
my blood stream and Doctor warned me about re occurrence and
asked me to continue the entire course.Once I became completely for quite
a few days ,I stopped taking medicine and it re-appeared ,though this
time it is not severe as it was.

Thanks for concern.

It is good for Doctor friends here ,to post messages on health also
apart from Investment advice.

LT,
YES,BB (20,2) on 3-min tf is very good.Just for trend, let us choose
5-min frame but 3-min for fine tuning .So always keep both 3 and 5 min
on your terminal side by side always.

If it is not bothering you can have BB(9,2) also ,but it touches the bands
frequently.

Don't expect to exploit market in both directions. To start with try with
one direction ,after fewdays ,you will be good at exploiting in both directions.

BB(20,2) with 3min and 5min time frames are presented
here.Look at the great fall at end session.

I read this whole thread from the beginning to end and have been testing the BB and RSI method with. It works so well. They complement each other perfectly. Why dont you use it now?
Yes,I remember kamalesh and myself ,studying a lot on BB with
RSI.(with merging in one chart ,without merging).
