We have a new release of Pi bridge. So here are two things that are firsts in India

1. Using this bridge you can connect any programming language to Pi to fire orders.
2. U can not only fire orders, but also get all responses back from the bridge. This is a super cool thing.
3. When you connect any other program to Pi. This program will need data feeds to run the program. Neotrade with whom we have partnered will give data on any platform that a client needs. Until now data vendors would give data only on Amibroker/metastock etc. But Neotrade will now give data also on Python, Java, C# and more.
4. Neotrade is also giving free data feeds on Amibroker until March 2016 for free.

This post has all the details: http://zerodha.com/z-connect/tradezerodha/pi-bridge/pi-bridge-gateway-to-trade-using-other-programs

Since you can connect to ip but not host, you can try to put the host and ip in HOST file, or try to use alternate DNS server ( ex google server is 8.8.8.8) in your network connection.

@Zerodha:

Now that you'll be offering MF purchase online, few questions:

a. your commission please? so that we can estimate return on investment.
b. pledging of liquid debt funds and the margin that you intend to give. Ex. a few debt MFs have clocked around >10% p.a return while liquidbees has clocked 6%. You presently give 90% margin for liquidbees, would this be the same for other debt/liquid funds? if not what %? this will help determine best method to park funds and take advantage of margin.

thanks.

a. There are no charges/commissions. It will be completely free to invest. So there will be nothing, hence no need of any update on the brokerage calculator.
b. Once we are ready, we will give out all the funds that can be pledged. exchanges have an approved list of funds for taking collateral.

And yeah, we will have some interesting things on this platform.
