Transfer of Physical Shares : Signature Mismatch

#1
Hi,

My Dad had bought some physical shares in 1995-1996. They had the dully signed transfer forms filled by the Transferor.

But then because of some family issues we had to move town. He was not able to send it to the registrar office then. When we tried to send those share certificates to the registrar office they returned it saying the signature in their records do not match hence they cannot transfer.

Can any one please help cause finding the original owners of the shares is pretty difficult and we have moved town almost 17 years ago.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

I think transfer forms have a validity of 1 or 2 years only.

You can talk to the registrars for transfer whether notarising the signature will help

Thanks RVM123, the problem is that the people from whom my dad bought the shares will be very difficult because
1) shares were bought around 17 years ago
2) We moved cities and it will be difficult to go and locate those people physically
