I use iPhone with 3G in Singapore. It sure does not replace a Desktop or Laptop, but can be used to enter or exit a position on the move.

Yes you can trade through mobile. All you need are,

1, Color mobile, say a good one with java support. I use motorola v3i
2. A phone browser. I use opera mini browser (http://www.opera.com/mini/download/). Just google and you will find a lot of other flavours
3. A trading account which supports low bandwidth. Like ICICIDirect (https://secure.icicidirect.com/trading/lbs/Logon.asp) or reliance money (http://rmoney.mobi/mcs/trade/reliance_home.jsp) or any other broker who provides a wap site (meaning that a site which is not bulky). I use rmoney.

I have accounts with Sharekhan and ICICIdirect. I use my Nokia 3110c mobile (cheapest mobile) for browsing internet through Opera 4. It is really good. Just try it once. I get a data connection like this 25 MB 58 Rupees from airtel. If u r whole day in mobile browsing sharekhan site (full site) it would consume u at max 2.5 MB Very maximum. I use it when i m in office and even when my manager is near by (he he he) Today i bought Unitech @ 81 Rs when i was in mid of a client meeting (he he) It doesnt matter man. Go for any java support mobile it ll work. Today profit only (1000 Stocks) gain = 8000 Rs. Thanks to Nokia 3110c and Opera, Airtel data connection.
