S group stocks need permission from exchange?

#1
Hi,
I just started trading and I was buying an S group share for delivery, but I couldnt do it from my home PC. So I called up the banks trading dept. and placed the order. I asked the guy if he knew why I couldnt buy them from my online account and he said that it is S group stock and needs permission of the exchange to buy it. I dont know if this is true. Can someone please explain?
Also, do I need to go thru the same procedure while selling them as well?

Thank you.

Who is your broker? Which is the stock?

Some brokerages are cautious about clients buying certain stocks, mostly of the illiquid type.

If you gave more details, perhaps you would get a more detailed answer.
