Real time data feeds...[SAME OLD QUESTION BUT EXPECTING LATEST REVIEWS]

#1
 Good day all traders......

Though i know, this question is very common & asked several times n the board. i would like to know this once again with the latest reviews.

Can someone please recommend me good & efficient Real time Data provider?
Who can provide data for NSE FNO & as well as CASH.

Neotrade & GDFL will be providing only for FNO but i also need for live equity feeds.

So anybody who are happy with their Data service provider,
who provides both CASH & FNO data in real time & in a efficient manner ....
Kindly recommend.

Though i wanted to ask few more questions, i wanted to keep it short,
So that if required, we can discuss further things on this in the days to come.

Thank you :)
Take care all.

I dont know your definition of efficient data provider. I used GDF and find data to be reliable. Other options available to you are Spider Software,Tickerplant Infovending, esignal and IB. This are official NSE data vendors. You will however find lots of others data vendors, who are not legally authorized data vendors for NSE.

I suppose GDFL does provide data for equities.

You do have limited options here. And this options are guided by the TA software you plan to use. Eash of this trading platforms support limited specific data feeds. So, if you plan to use SierraCharts, you are limited to GDFL. Amibroker seem to be compatible with all. If you use Multicharts, you can use esignal and IB.

In nutshell, your Trading/TA platform determines which data feed you can use.

Now here is my take......
1)GDFL : Use them if plan to use AmiBroker/Sierracharts/Ninjatrader/Metastock/Multicharts. Neo somehow is NOT listed by NSE as a official vendor.
2)SpiderSoft/Tickerplant : They most probably provide their own tool+Data.
3)eSignal : Very reliable but costly proposition.
4)IB : Although they don't sell Data alone, you can probably open a account with them and use their data with your own TA tools.
5)esignal livecharts & icharts : Both are cloud based charting options. There are unsupported tools available which convert data feed from them and stream into it your charting tool.

Of the above , i would support Option 1 and Option 4. Again, decide on your TA platform first and then see which data-feed is supported "Officially" on it. For example, I don't like Amibroker. I prefer Sierra charts. So the only data-feeds im limited to are 1)GDFL 2)esignal 3)IB. Although Sierracharts supports other data vendors, but this three are the only options for Indian markets.

Hope this helped.

Where do the cheap guys get the data from?
Really varies. A few get the data directly from NSE , others utilize various sources like Google/Yahoo, Feed from broker, etc.

Many people dont realize that this vendors dont really provide tick by tick data, but rather "seconds" snapshots (sometimes 1 minute snapshot).

Hi,

I am able to pull Intraday data from Yahoo Finanace (Presently, It is having 15 mins delay). But I am not understanding how AmiBroker will read this without AmiQuotes. What format of database should be for Amibroker. Data is pulled in below format in CSV file.

Unix TS,close,high,low,open,volume
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
1432525559,277.0000,280.2000,277.0000,280.2000,648 100
1432525619,277.7500,277.9000,276.2500,277.2000,372 600
1432525679,278.1500,278.6500,277.5500,277.8000,260 800
1432525739,279.0000,279.4500,278.2000,278.2500,278 900
1432525799,279.2000,279.7000,279.0000,279.1000,235 900
1432525859,281.0500,281.0500,279.3000,279.3500,326 800
1432525919,280.6000,281.2500,280.6000,281.1000,276 200

Please suggest how can I configure it in DB so amibroker can read it.
