Questions regarding index funds.

What type of investors should invest in index funds? What should be the aim of investment in such a fund?
What are some of the good performers in this category?
In particular would you like to comment about Reliance index fund, Nifty plan? Someone suggested this fund to me and I would like to know what others think about this one.

If you are looking to Invest in Index funds, why don't you Invest in Nifty ETF & Bank Bees?

Why look somewhere else?

Why do you want to invest in Index funds? Actively managed funds have outperformed passively managed funds by a significant margin. Look at HDFC Top 200 vs any Index fund over 1, 3 or 5 years.
