Optimizing/Increasing 3G Data Card speed

Method to try... increasing speed of 3G Data Card connection

I am trying various methods to get good speed of internet.

Keeping USB Dongle outside area (Balcony/window etc)..Using USB extension cord(Male/Female) to connect to Laptop/Desktop.With this method following speed is seen.

Moving

Below are few methods listed for trial (Will add more if found)

1. Aluminium Foil covering - Will elaborate when tried
2. Buying booster...Will elaborate when tried
3. Changing some baud rate ..etc of Dongle used.. Will elaborate when tried
4. Google DNS 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4
5. Instead of using Mobile Partner using some other method for connection

If any more methods are available , please let me know...

I found reception and speed increase on my photon + and 3G data card by putting the dongle using USB cable on a glass.

Aluminium foil did not work;
Cola can did not work;
umbrella net [like filtering tea, but bigger] did not work;
to me the glass method worked.

The higher i kept the glass with dongle the better was the reception and speed.

Check if you can find a way to measure (signal strength, SNR, etc), for example by using mdma. Else it may be a subjective, judgemental exercise.

Friends,

Today had installed new Sata hdd and installed on Windows 7 32bit with 2gb Ram and tried checking speed with Airtel 3G .

Experiment Done -

Cut a part of 1 litre Aqua water bottle
Pasted some Aluminimum Foil
Placed Huwaei 1732 with airtel 3g sim card
Used USB extension cable
Checked speed ....Happy with the findings...Shown -83dBm

Yusi,

Earlier without all the experiment it should -97dBm.
Only two bars were seen , now three are displayed .Once five are reached maybe I would get good speed.
Even current speed is also good but would try to get maximum by experimenting.

As per my discussion with Airtel representative in Pune it seems Airtel do not have 3G license and have 4G for Pune region.

The Representative has requested me to search network of Idea / Vodafone from Mobile Partner and manually register with their network.

Current signal strength Good with 4 bars and -71dbm.Hope to get stable speed else back to wired costly broadband
