Hi,
In order to check the reliability of yahoo eod stock quotes, I compared them to stock quotes from NSE bhav copy.
While open, high, low and volume quotes were the same, the quote for close price differed.
In the NSE bhav copy there are two end of day quotes, the 'Close price' and the 'Last price'.
Yahoo uses the Last price for charting while NSE uses the Close price.
Eg. in NSE bhav copy
SYMBOL, SERIES, OPEN, HIGH, LOW, CLOSE, LAST, PREVCLOSE, TOTTRDQTY,TOTTRDVAL, TIMESTAMP,
ABB, EQ, 1295, 1313, 1287, 1296.4,1287, 1289.95, 27729,35978726, 4-MAR-2005,
In the above scrip, Yahoo uses LAST price of 1287 while NSE uses CLOSE 1296.4
What is the difference between the two prices and how much of a problem does it create in stock analysis or no problem at all?
Is Yahoo free quote service relaible at all?
Any comments!
