The key highlights of the revised tariff plan are as follows:

1. A single tariff plan based on number of terminals per user per segment shall be applicable from July 01, 2017. Tariff plan details are provided in Annexure 1.
2. All customers who access NSE as well Non-NSE segments (except MSEI & ICEX) shall be charged as per the proposed Tariff provided in Annexure 1.
3. Investor clients who access the application exclusively through NOW WEB platforms: www.nowonline.in and www.now-online.in, throughout the billing month, will be given free access and not be charged.
4. NOW billing will continue to be on a monthly basis and customers are requested to make the payment within 10 days of the billing date in order to avoid discontinuation of access to NOW terminal.
Further, in order to reduce the impact on dealer / investor client, it has been decided to offer a flat discount of 50% on NOW billing for a period of 9 months from July 01, 2017 to March 31, 2018.

Background :

NOW was launched in July 2008 and provides access to multiple stock exchange segments namely NSE CM, NSE F&O, NSE CDS, NSE SLBM, NSE OFS, BSE Cash, BSE F&O, BSE CDS, MSE CD, MSE CM, MSE FO and commodity exchanges namely, NCDEX, MCX (proposed to be available on NOW from June 2017) and ICEX (shall be available as and when the exchange goes live).

Over the period, NOW has gained popularity with dealers who access the platform through EXE and WEB and investor clients who access the platform through EXE, WEB and Mobile (across Android, IOS, Windows, Blackberry).

Currently, the customers of DotEx are charged only for accessing Non-NSE segments on NOW based on the tariff structure announced in 2012. Over the period, DotEx has scaled up its capacity in all the areas of its operations (hardware, software, Internet bandwidth etc.) to enhance the user experience of NOW

Further, DotEx has been on-boarding additional Indian exchanges on NOW to provide a single trading platform to its customers. DotEx has regularly added features/functionalities on NOW (Annexure 2) and is in the process of providing additional value added features/functionalities (Annexure 3) to make NOW the most preferred application for trading in Indian markets.

All the above mentioned facilities/functionalities have been provided on NOW to its customers without any price revisions since 2012. Considering the above, it has been decided to revise the tariff with effect from July 01, 2017.

All brokers may not pass it on their customers. Already finvasia said no charge untill their own terminal launched.
Nest also charged per customer basis, but most brokers don't pass it to the customers...they make up it from Rs 15-20 brokerages.

NOW Mobile and NOW Desktop will be chargeable . NOW Web will be free.

To reduce wastage / leakage , Client may request their Broker to remove segment in which they are not placing order , as NOW is chargeable per segment , per month per Client.

E.g Client having NSE Cash , NSE F&O , BSE Cash , BSe Currency four segment , Broker will have to pay Rs 1200 per month for this Client even if client has logged in just once.

Stock Broker may not charge their client giving Brokerage above certain amount say Rs 2000 in above case , where Broker is able to recover cost and some margin for his running expenses.

It would not be free for those client who are not giving enough revenue.
