My Desktop computer is not booting up with no sign on screen at all?

#21
Today i connected my friend's Hard disk to my computer but still it didn't give any response.sO I think my hard disk is also fine.
Now the only thing left is Motherboard. And to be specific ,that BIOS chip on motherboard.I think ,that chip has some problem. But its too hard to clip it out.
Somebody has any idea about BIOS chip. Can there be a problem in that chip in this case? Are the symptoms of my computer indicating that there is a fault in BIOS chip.
I'm pretty scared about taking the CPU to hardware specialists.
Coz you know how these guys are..They just know to fetch as much money as possible from the victim by misguiding them due to lack of knowledge about these things.
Its a fact Mistri aur Doctor kabhi bhi choti bimari to btata hi nhi ha
Agar machine ki taar kat gyi ha to mistri bolega ,motor sad gyi aur agar bande ko kabzi ho gyi ha to doctor bolega Pathri ho gyi.
Both of these professions are of same kind. Only profession is different but basic funda is same.

Whatever the charges, you have to finally visit the doctor, right ? So, at some point you will have to admit that you have done all that you could possibly by the way of self-medication, and is now time to visit the doctor.

So, why not resort to a hardware guy now ? (unless, of course, you are going to retire this comp).

Well, I would second what TP mentioned. Go to a specialist. But before you let any of them work out the problem, ask some question:

What do you think could be the problem?
How long would it take for you to resolve the problem?
Is there any thing I can do in advance to shorten this time?
How much do you charge for one hour?
How much would it approximately cost?
What about a new computer?
How much would you charge for a new computer include a transfer of the whole old system?

Ask those questions two or three different specialists in different places. You then will find out if it makes sense to work together with one of them or if you should directly go for a new computer. Here again: You need to go to different places to compare the prices of what you have in mind.

You will be surprised by the numbers you will be offered. My motherboard was damaged just a little bit last November, but it was enough to make my laptop stop working. I then did go to different places to collect all the information. I was astonished about the numbers I was told and how much I finally paid for a new laptop. The new laptop I finally bought, as this was the best solution, cost me around 25% in a big discount house compare to what was offered from one of this little one man shows out in the town.

Ok, I have to say that it is no problem for me to build up a computer system with all what I need, so this may is a bit different to some of you, but even than: Ask and compare what is offered and what others do.

Take care and good luck / DanPickUp
