MTA CMT Level 1

Dear Members
I am an engineering working in an automobile industry for past 2 years.
I am interested in trading and doing it on virtual platform from past 1 year.
I am appearing for CMT Level 1 on 23 Oct'14.
What are the job prospects? Which companies hire CMT Level 1?
Is it easy to get a job on after clearing level 1?
What are the requirements to make sure that i will get a job in the same field?
My long term plans is to continue as an individual trader.
Is there any other option/exam to get in the trading field?

Regards
Arpit

Hi arpit,

Id registered for the CMT with the idea that when I study TA in depth and get a certification for it, it will help my individual trading.

I didn't clear the exam due to a very casual approach, but came quickly to a realization that one doesn't need any certification to successfully trade the MKT .

L1 is very basic btw. Not sure if that will help in securing a job, and also for your personal trading.

TA is vast indeed and there are hundreds and thousands of things one could read abt and learn but eventually its how one applies it to the MKT in real time is what matters.

I've learnt some very powerful things on traderji by experienced traders and it has helped my trading way more than cmts Lev 1 knowledge.

A better place to check abt job prospects for CMT would be the ATMA forum. Mr Sushil kedia might be in a better position to factually answer your queries on acceptance of CMT certification for jobs in our trading industry...

Wish you good luck.:thumb:

Dear Arpit,

Any qualification in life its not a guaranteed ticket to success. It all dpends on hardwork and output that comes. Market industry is very ruthless, you will be judged by performance and not with your academic list.
I know i am sharp in my words. But believe me, i have friends who had done CMT, and due to lack of networking, unable to get in.

If you want to get employed in mkt, as a analyst or so, yes CMT is good one. But add your trading skills side by side. Sharp your concepts across all you see, right from stocks, derivatives, heding, portfolio management..etc...

Everybody expect certain value addition to his firm, when he employed you, so develop that value. Dont be any just another TA with CMT.

Regards...
