i hope it does nothing bad to current database , i just added 5-6 years via all default settings :)
if u tried to add the data for the dates which was already present then it would rewrite those old data with new one :D
if u added 2003-2005 data to 2006-onwards then it would just update the data not present in the DB path :)

i didnt had any data for mcx , i had data of nse exchange by my intraday data provider , and now when i search for gold (after adding all mcx data) its showing the charts of gold .

my nse data would be untouched i hope :)

yes dont worry about nse data is wont be over written as long as symbols arent the same
but generally try and keep both nse and mcx data @ diff DB
