i have a query regarding the margin one needs to put for F&O trades .

Say I am long on a nifty fut contract the value is 2.5Lac and margin is 10% ie 25K . Now my question is can i put in 20K margin as my stocks in my DP and rest as cash margin ? or i need to put in entire 25K as cash .

Some please answer ......

It depends on the broker & their Risk Management, some brokers allow it, others mayn't so you should equire the broker upfront before you open an A/C with them as to whether they offer margin-against-stocks or not.
