LTCG Tax on Debt Funds

Folks,
Some of my Debt Funds (FMP's) are coming up for redemption and would like to know the following:

Do the fund houses deduct the LTCG @ redemption?
If not when does one pay the LTCG Tax and how do we pay (am a salary tax payee)?

n the FMP's be extended beyond their maturity date?
Would be obliged if some1 can clarify the above.
