Is it mandatory to hit strike price?

Hi Friends

i am learning about futures and options, here i have got a question, any options trader please explain me

if i bought xyz contract 3 lots at Rs.100

Strike price suppose is rs 150

Exp date : 30-05-2013


suppose if xyz price gown and reached rs.120, is it need for me hold till it reach 150 or i can sell them at now?

why i am asking this is we have two type European type and US type, as i was known that indian markets follow european style,

you can buy or sell options of any strike price at any time for any number of times just like any other share provided some one waiting for a trade in the counter ...... :D
