How to thank for a useful post

Dear Friends,

I have posted this query in some user reputation thread, but i think that's not active now. so i'm posting here again..

I tried to add my thanks to some posts, by adding comment 'thank you' in "Balance Weighing Scale " icon next to the post number. But I 'm not able to see my name in the list of people expressed thanks. Could you pls tell me what am i missing here ?

After you complete 50 posts, I think you will be able to use the Thanks button.

Are you sure ?? I don't think that's the case.... I have seen people with 16 posts and 3 thanks
