Good Morning.

Please share some ideas and your views on how to identify intraday market trend in Nifty.
It is only about discussing different lines of approach and not about a detailed strategy or entry/exit rules followed in the trading system.
The idea is basically to discuss different viewpoints, perspectives and methods traders follow to gauge broad market direction for the day.

thank you.

I will add these:

2) When pre-market readings are positive, market may tend to be in positive bias for the day.
3) When total advances are greater than declines, market trend can be positive.

Success rate or valid reasoning is not required. please post some raw ideas on market prediction for the day.

First understand the daily trend, then the hourly trend - THEN AND ONLY THEN trade intra day in the direction of the longer term trend.
Depends what you want to do - trade frequently or trade less frequently and make money !!

Who is very specific about intraday trend ? Obviously it is pure intraday traders, who has to enter and exit in the same day. A swing or positional trader is not that much concerned about intraday trend as he has the option to exit on next day or other if not today.

So this conventional approach of - Trade in the direction of Higher time frame wont work for practical intraday traders. Nifty can be in uptrend on daily charts. But today can be a down trending day. So even if a intraday trader waits for a good entry point and takes a buy position, it wont work for him as it is downtrend on intraday basis.
