Hello Friends,
How to Calculate Capital gain for Partial Withdrawal of Debt or Equity Mutual fund?

Say I have 36K in Mutual funds. After few time it became 36.5K.
I want to withdraw 8K for my needs. How to calculate gain & Tax?

As your profit is very low so Capital gain and tax would be negligible. But in normal case, if you sell your mutual fund let say within a year, then tax would be 15%.

If you redeem units worth Rs 8000 then you have to calculate capital gains on these units ( Sale NAV -purchase NAV. * Number of units) Depending upon Long/short term and equity/debt find the capital gains tax has to be calculated. Many mutual funds give these calculations giving amount of capital gains and whether it is short/long term.
