Yesterday ( 11-dec-2019 ) , the market was down almost all day and after 2.30 PM, it turned around to gain points and close positively. I tried to look for reasons and read in one of the article of moneycontrol that there was 'short covering in major stocks'. this makes me ask certain questions :-
1) Since Short positions are made everyday, Why does some days short covering happens, and some days short covering does not happen ?
2) How do we get to know short positions in Future Contracts ? we can analyze Option Chain and get idea on Options Contract, how to know about future contract ?
3) How do we get to know short positions in Intraday Cash Segment of stocks ? we can analyze Option Chain and get idea on Options Contract, how to know about short positions in Intraday Cash Segment of stocks
