1) Your trading/investing experience.
Beginner/Noobster No. 1

2) The number of years you have been investing or trading in the markets.
One month (actually that's in DSIJ simulation :D that too only brought one stock yet of Jamna Auto on 7th dec, 60 shares at 120 after looking at it's graph on bseindia, beginners luck!)

3) Your area of interest - IPO's/secondary market/futures/options/commodities, etc.
Equity stock market.

4) How do you make your trading decisions.
Seriously, I have a lot to learn, still trying to fully understand basic valuation of stocks. No real trading/investing decisions yet.

5) How you discovered this forum.
I discovered it a while back but was not interested in the stock market then, only just joined to ask few technical questions, valuation techniques, software tools etc

6) Tech question I had...was trying to understand market capitalization of a stock,
Market Cap = Total outstanding shares x Current Market Value

So I was looking at a couple of the top 30 SENSEX companies, one Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BEHL)
http://www.bseindia.com/stock-share...datepledge.aspx?scripcode=500103&expandable=2
In the above link, just wanted to clarify a few terms used there,
Total Number of Issued Shares = 2447600000 (this is, total shares outstanding, right!)
Total Promoter Holding = 1543452000 (Restricted shares)
Total Public Holding = 904148000 (Free Float Shares)
BEHL, Current Market Value = 153.70
So it's Market Cap = 2447600000 x 153.70 = 37,619.612 (Crores)

But when I looked at the Market Cap figure for BEHL on DSIJ, it's bit different (37,595.14 Crores)
http://www.dsij.in/screener.aspx?CompanyCode=13510039.00

Did I make a mistake!
The other stock I was looking like this for Market Cap was Tata Motors (and the numbers were way off there).
