General Trading Chat

Thanks for this. Will keep it in mind. This year we had to visit the banks personally.
last week I visited nearby branch of BoM (my dad's pension account is with Bank of Maharashtra). They sent a person to my place for verification. The nearby branch completed necessary verification and signed the LC form. The branch manager then sent a scanned copy of signed LC form to the branch holding my dad's pension account. That was swift too.

Before going for this step, I had contacted various centers authorized for carrying out LC verification. The list of such centers in your area can be easily found on Jeevan Praman website (https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/locatecentre) by entering area pin code. They will visit your place upon request and LC process can be completed without moving out of your house.

On that locator, it shows names of some individuals in your area.

RBI sounds out PNB on acquisition of beleaguered Lakshmi Vilas Bank
Beleaguered bank is currently in merger talks with Clix Capital

Writing on the wall toh thha hi... but what happens to the minority shareholders??? Also, if PNB would have acquired it, would they be allowed to extinguish the entire existing equity like DBS was allowed?

A draft scheme proposed by the RBI clearly stated that the entire amount of the paid-up share capital and reserves and surplus, including the balances in the share/securities premium account of Lakshmi Vilas Bank, were written-off and its shares or debentures listed in any stock exchange shall stand delisted, he further said. It is even more surprising that the exchanges have not suspended the trading in the counter as the bank itself ceases to exist...
