This govt is all about maintenance of image! Agree that govt will have pay 85 Cr. But it wont be getting billions it demanded earlier from vodafone. I’m sure that once demand for rs 20,000 cr were raised, govt must have included it as part of receivables in budget.

By that logic what was MM Singh Govt thinking in 2007 when they conjured up this ploy :DD

In 2012, even Supreme Court ruled in favour of Voda and what did they do ?
tear ordinances :D ( It was MMs Govt then also )

SC judgement would definitely have boosted their case and it may even be obvious that int'l court will say the same. Now even fresh appeals will keep strengthening their case so Govt of the day might as well close it and get a moment to harp on it in prime time debate.
