its cheaper than keep paying them usd salaries on bench without projects ...
the article makes it sounds heroic ..the recent h1 suspension has no impact to exisitng h1b emplyees that are in US...
puerly business oriented decisison by Infy
true, the employees must be cursing infy to calling them back, other times, employees will try to relocate to different projects within US, but not in post-covid world...

^^ What I was more concerned about bpr sir was, if this is the 'vocal for local" moment for US... because Trump had been "vocal" for a long time, but now some real action is accompanying the mouthing off, especially affecting India...
"Infosys has hired over 10,000 US nationals or permanent residents in the last two years. In the recent virtual annual general meeting (AGM), U B Pravin Rao, chief operating officer, Infosys, said that at present, 60 per cent of Infosys’ US employees are visa independent. "

No sir please ...
Vocal for local going on for so long ...and anti china rehtoric but even after its first tenure trump is not able to do much
h1b reform another thing he is promissing for so long ....if he wins again then next yer he will probably do it.
last 2/3 years h1b rejection and harrasment to indian comanies peaked ...infact one report says even US comapnies like google amazon aapl and others are also getting h1b rejection ..mind u most of these comanies do h1b for indian and chinese people ....
rejection rate is more than 35% to 40% ...
recently some indian consultancies in US did a case against USICS and won ...it says the rejection due to some reasosns shown by USICS are illegal
Indian comanpies started hiring american citizens and gc holders to counter it as they have no other choice ..
Also price difference is their between american citizen vs h1b so margin will drop ...
but the problem is even if u r ready to pay why will any american citizen join these companies ...:D unless they have no other choice
at the end reform or no reform client will foot the bill if the price of doing business rises and stonks only go up...so nothing to worry
