CHEMCON IPO price - 340 listed at 731.
since its launch, it has been in a down trend and currently trading at 434 and may go down further.(even though sentiments are high for chemical companies)
Still surprised what happened to those "buying interests" who pushed the listing price to 730 but let it fall freely till 430.
One thing for sure , it has lot to offer in terms of learnings for blind IPO investors

if broad market and other funds are not able to out perform index then its better to put the positions in index. Nse does good job of removing underperformers and adding outperformers in index and hence portfolio balancing is taken care of. In last5 years nifty has moved from 8000 to 12000. The average sip would be somewhere between 10000 and 11000. Just my guess. Still profitable.
Since 2018 nifty has had multiple cracks & come back to 12k, but each time it comes back the portfolio value is lesser than last.. broader mkt hv limited rallies & then get stuck..

This situation is identical to what we faced in 2012 / 13..

That is because portfolio consists of individual stocks and shares. In every rally some stocks underperform Nifty and some stocks outperform Nifty. So if our portfolio stocks are underperformers, our portfolio value will be less than it was when nifty was at 12000 last time. Similarly if our portfolio stocks are outperformers to nifty, our portfolio value will be more than what it was when we were at 12000 last time......all about underperformance/outperformance of stocks and sectors. So the solution is we have to be in outperforming stocks then our portfolio value will be fine....Weeding out of underperforming stocks and buying outperforming stocks is something we have to do continuously as portfolio investors.
