Frankly speaking, people buy flats worth 15 crores in areas like Nana Chowk and Lower Parel, but don't get invertors. They don't need them. Ever. Simple.
once we had major fire at Grid Point in vidarbha. Whole of region was under blackout for 3 days (yr 1999) all electricity was being sent to rest of Maharashtra while the cities, town continue to suffer next 2 months from severe powercuts (7-8 hrs a day for whole of summer). The reason was political as Vidarbha had more power plants then any other place and western part of state needed 'uninterrupted' supply of electricity.

Hahahaha....... That's funny. I know I shouldn't laugh, but I can't help myself. So big city, with access to such advance technologies, and they don't plan for contingency!
Over-reliance on technology without backup planning has its peril.
I hope you are not proposing to have old style ring to be brought alive where you call broker to place order and get confirmation end of day as relying on technology is not good..
Lived in Mumbai my whole life. Never felt the need to get an inverter/generator. Don't remember being without power for more than 3 hours. Unscheduled power cuts maybe once a year for an hour or so.
PS - Climbed 32 stories today.
I climb 14 stories every other day - no sweat.... 32 is a different beast with lactic acid build -up
