Need to update the post this I was told in 2001. Just googled and checked they have done it indeed.

There is technology where data/ (internet) can be transmitted and received through the power supply cable.

yes bhai , I also feel charges should start from max 700 per month (including GST) but ours is taking double of that. taking advantage of pathetic bsnl and other telecom operators.
bsnl bharat fibre is good 50 mpbs upto 500gb and 2mpbs after that at rs 800 per month after tax and free landline connection with free unlimited calls .amazon prime free for one year .but dont know if its available at your place . 1300 for 20 mpbs is too high when u look at current data prices .

1300 is for 2mbps only .
for 20mbps its 11000 per month.
