India's GDP growth slumps to 6-year low of 5% in April-June 2019

India's gross domestic product (GDP) grew 5 percent in April-June 2019, official data released on August 30, 2019 showed, confirming fears of a slowdown as the government announced a second set of measures to boost the economy, buffeted by weak household spending and muted corporate investment.

The previous low was recorded at 4.9 percent in April-June 2012-13 while GDP growth was 8 percent in the same quarter of 2018-19.
