Trade-War Winner Vietnam Is Now a Target for Trump’s Tariffs

Vietnam’s recent fame as a big winner of the U.S.-China trade war may be bringing it unwanted attention from President Donald Trump.

When asked in an interview with Fox Business Network if he wanted to impose tariffs on Vietnam, Trump said: “Well, we’re in discussions with Vietnam. Vietnam is almost the single worst -- that’s much smaller than China, much -- but it’s almost the single worst abuser of everybody.”

Just last month, the U.S. Treasury added Vietnam to a watchlist of countries it’s monitoring for possible currency manipulation. The nation's benchmark VN Index slumped 1.7% Thursday, to the lowest since Feb. 12.

India's tariffs unacceptable: Donald Trump lashes out ahead of meeting PM Modi at G20 Summit

head of meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the G20 Summit, US President Donald Trump has hit out at the Modi government and said that India's tariffs on US products is "unacceptable" and they must be withdrawn.

Significant tension has grown between India and the US after Trump announced end of preferential trade with India and the Modi government hit back with retaliatory tariffs on 28 US products earlier this month.

The Modi government's decision to impose tariffs on US products came into force earlier this month after being stalled for several months. The action was prompted by the Trump administration's decision to withdraw preferential access given to Indian products.

@realDonaldTrump

I look forward to speaking with Prime Minister Modi about the fact that India, for years having put very high Tariffs against the United States, just recently increased the Tariffs even further. This is unacceptable and the Tariffs must be withdrawn!

It is in extreme overbought zone for more than 5 bars so expect it to continue going up further...selling will be dangerous. It has to dissipate its bullish energy before it turns down.It is in strong uptrend,you may make money by buying .

And yet the cocoa moved down. Futures ran a little upstairs, not fatal. But then he moved well down.

i have a feeling that there will be truce at G-20 for further talks. Trump is not going to escalate the trade war now. He is going to do that closer to his presidential debate to present it as an example of his toughness so i feel it is going to happen around december.

MTNL in the last quarter of 2019 posted a loss of 755 crores. And read the next bit carefully. Its revenue from operations during the same period is 536 crores. Roughly, the losses are 140% of the revenues. Yearly burden on taxpayers is more than 3000 crores

When they say we want to take care of PSU employees, they mean ‘we want to screw the taxpayers’

Usually profits or losses are a percentage of revenue. Indian PSUs have reversed the trend where revenues are a percentage of losses. No mean achievement this.
