just a thought. if you are around 40 years old and reasonably healthy and no pre-existing diseases, it's better to get corona+ now than later as you will get the best care and treatment and chances of survival is highest also becoming corona immune (95%+ probability as per data)
when humans mess with nature, this is what you get. The predictors know everything until it goes the other way.
some variant may come along the way and turn that 95% to 5%.
better stay safe than fall for such wishful thinking.
There are thousands of strains mutating over centuries, and its still a fighting game.

before lockdown, possibility of migrant workers, temporary/dihadi majdur should have been considered.

In India, only 30% of deaths are medically certified. so we will never get to know exact numbers of death by corona. As people with existing illness are more prone to become victim of corona, family gp could potential mark death as 'due to existing medical condition' beside, we don't have mechanism or resources to check cause of each and every death like in developed countries.
Very true, we will not know the number of perople who got displaced or have eventually died in their villages due to malnutrition thereby making them susceptible to common other diseases like TB, dengue, etc.

people who came from abroad played the part very well in spreading virus to other persons. Now it is the turn of these migrants to play their part.
- This is all politics and handwork of some groups, who are playing this game of exodus.
- who spread the rumour that buses are available for various cities of UP, at Anand Vihar ISBT.
- who brought these people to Anand Vihar ISBT in DTC buses, when only skeleton service of DTC buses is running
- why no exodus from/to other states like Punjab/Rajasthan and only to UP

This is a very frightening situation, as even a single infected person will spread it to hundreds of other people, here n Delhi or in their places (after reaching there)

Most probably, these people wont be affected / infected as the virus had affected those who returned in Air flights. The common majdoor could possibly get it if he was in close contact with anyone who returned from abroad.

However, if workers working in Dubai, etc returned and are among the crowd, then there could be danger for them, another 5-7 (incubation period) days will tell the story .. Lets hope and pray that all goes well.

More than 2000 people have died in the USA, it has the largest number of infections but when you look at the US Newspapers (online websites) you get the feeling that nothing much is happening in the USA. All the headlines point to different things rather than the tragedy. For instance WSJ: Trump decides against the quarantine, Washington Post: Desperate for medical equipment, states find a beleaguered national pile, NYT: Trump backs off NY quarantine, US death reaches 2000. Only NTY mentioned the tragedy directly. I have been noticing this for the past week or so even as the infected cases were rising. The press does really operate differently in different countries with its focus on something different. Last whole week the focus and headlines were on the economic package not on the infection. Sometimes it leaves you scratching your head.

The basic strategy in the US is to stop infections from spreading by giving them HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE & AZITHROMYCIN intravenously thereby preventing further community spread.

HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE & AZITHROMYCIN
Chloroquine interferes with the virus's ability to replicate in two ways. First, the drug enters compartments called endosomes within the cell membrane. Endosomes tend to be slightly acidic, but the chemical structure of the drug boosts their pH, making the compartments more basic.

Many viruses, including SARS-CoV, acidify endosomes in order to breach the cell membrane, release their genetic material and begin replication; chloroquine blocks this critical step.

Do the best and leave the rest.

Very scary....

In the morning there were 2

By afternoon there were 4

By Evening there were 22...

Not those affected by corona.

But vessels in the kitchen sink....

In persuit of financial independence.
I believe due to lack of extensive testing (and lack of such feasibility in a country like India), the number of positive Covid 19 cases will surely be underreported. However, since any mortality as a result of the disease will not go unreported, the mortality numbers so far are contained, in view of the proactive measures taken by the government, there is a silver lining, (part facts, part wishful), that we may do better than the rest of the world.
That difference in severity can be partly explained by majority young demography, few unproven factors like, relative/cross immunity, climate etc.
I know we can go into community transmission/stage 3, and cases may explode, God forbid......Considering first case arrived on Jan30, so far it's better than feared.....hope it continues.
Italy by the way is at no.2 in overall efficiency of health care system and India at 112 (the list is an official WHO list), still Italy has suffered most.

Before we can make the assessment which country has handled this better or which state has done a better job, we have to wait for the story to end. We are still in the middle of the story and each country is at a different position in the timeline (some at the start, some in the middle and some others moving towards the end). Any assessment we make now is premature and rushed. Let us wait for the story to end.

Tale
A man won the lottery and the prize was a solo flying ticket on a local plane. "How lucky," he thought. He went on the plane. The plane developed a snag and he fell out of the plane. "How unlucky" the thought. Fortunately, there was a haystack on the ground. "How lucky" he mused. As he neared he noticed a pitchfork in an upright position, "How unlucky" he cried, Fortunately, he missed the pitchfork, "Really luck" he smiled. Unfortunately, he missed the haystack.
We can say he was lucky or unlucky depending on where we want to stop telling the story.

Fortunately, he woke up from the dream.
