Did you seen the film "Dhasavadharam" film 1st scene is the sample , how both tortured and killed each other for which is great saiva or vainava. Not just killed in wars alone.

I read in even my school books , How they use torture tactics to convert them one to other. Who refused killed with elephants foots , throwing them into boiling lime stones, piercing the sharp pole from bottom to mouth. These all read in my school history books. Words are different.

Not just in wars.

I hope only in evolution these will change, so these chaos wont end soon.
what dhasavadharam dear !!! read history books from any university ... you will understand..every thing..with in the religion we have seen great reformers...what you are now..from that age to now...see every religion you find the change with ages...

there are war between saivas and vishnavaws who every wins used to toucher other..do you find saivas fighting with each other.. no ..don't quote kamal hassan movies...with in india also we find great reformers in islam..and indian islam is not what other follow..

evolution of mind will settle this chaos and also with reforms with in religions are the answer..

Vertigo,

You want to know where there is intolerance? It is ironical really - It's you who is being intolerant!!!

Why do I say that? Because you cannot tolerate anybody (in this case Amir Khan) to have any opinion - if it clashes with yours. You are upset, and many are outraged.

Strange is it not? People are bashing Amir Khan by bringing in his brother, wife, profession etc instead of finding error or fault in his statement. And what the righteous, patriotic moral brigade is doing is labelling opposing view as anti-India, unpatriotic.

And then the crowd psychology takes over.....

And again look at the logic :

BJP is a nationalistic party.
BJP is a (protector) of Hindutva, so it is a Hindu party.

So, it logically follows, if you are anti BJP, you are anti national and anti Hindu!!!

For standing up to Amir Khan's right to free speech, I have been labeled as Anti BJP. Why? Is being Anti BJP some crime? I have been labeled as ignorant as well. Maybe I am, but nobody is refuting my arguments.

And as to Amir Khan's statement creating to division in the country, who's responsible for it? And in doing so, who/which party benefits?

All it takes is for well meaning people to be carried away by emotions and a sense of moral righteousness is to feel indignant over a person expressing his opinion. And all this hullaballo is over a non issue. As I said before, were it anybody else, nothing would have happened. But Amir Khan? How dare he express his opinion? Come on folks, let's bash him up. And more people join the fun, the better we will feel.

Lets see it in context, u r right.. he didnt say India is intolerant but truth is -
1. Ppl are already fed up with this intolerance intolerance which has been gng on for quite a long time now, you dont like something then go and act on it, dont go on preaching.
2. Where is intolerance ?? what happened with him that he himself had to say that there is growing intolerance ? lets hear personal examples of those who think there is growing intolerance in country..guess how many u will find in real life ?? and if we want to go into facts then please mention year by year data of the cases.
3. These statements do sound as anti hindu and anti BJP(aamir was clear in targeting BJP), personally i dont think me or anyone else i know have become any more intolerant than they were earlier so its quite frustrating to hear it again and again that Ihave become intolerant. They can say that there have been few cases of intolerance but they dont, they chose to say India has become intolerant or of a particular religion or party supporters have become intolerant, how long do i have to keep hearing this crap ??
4. Lastly... i dont understand what those who are supporting this row have in mind, the only thing it has resulted in is more division between the two communities.

You are a wise man DSM, i am surprised at how you cannot see what its been doing to our society ?? Sure we can have our differences ..sure you might be correct that intolerance is rising but if your actions lead to more division then how wise is it to take those actions ? Thing is.. ppl are targeting disharmony rather than harmony so what else do they expect to attract?? I hope you seriously think about it.

Take care.

Like Amir khan, ppl are expressing their opinion.. they also have a right to do that.. dont they ?? esp since they have been accused of intolerance. And again lets not have a blanket statement that everyone is bringing his wife, using vulgar language.

As i said before if it was sometime else and same aamir khan nothing would have happened, but after the series of incidents how else you think ppl wud take it ? we may not like it but thats how crowd behaves and what he did was plain stupid.

And lets not be naive, when one says intolerance is rising they are talking about hindus only, do u justify connecting intolerance with one religion when we definitely wont wanna connect terrorism to a particular religion ? why such hypocricy ?

Please share ur views on facts in given article -

Vertigo,

People have a right to express opinion. What we are getting instead is mass hysteria and Amir bashing. People being upset and outraged - over a non issue. As you too were/are upset and it was/is that your emotions that have taken over.

Regarding crowd behaviour, I am aware, and always like to think for myself. I remember the incident of Mumbai (Bombay blast then) People were shocked. I was working, and we all were watching from our office a stream of people walking towards the railway station. Among them was a Muslim guy, who it was apparent from his clothes and beards. People were taunting him. And then all of a sudden, on seeing this person, our office boy, ran and started hitting him. We were shocked. Sanity prevailed and someone escorted the office boy back. He was chocked with emotions and outraged. It was an eye opener for me and made me to think independent of popular opinion and crowd behaviour. And hence I don't get carried away by sentiments. Rational and cool thinking is what works long term. Even if it means being 1 among the 100 outraged people baying for blood.

And sorry to say, your sense of outrage (or prejudice) is so deep that you are still are attacking Amir Khan instead of defending a matter of principal. And you are the same person who talks about objectivity and reason!!! :(:(:( And if any further proof was needed, you have brought religion into the picture. A let down comming from you really.

Re. the minister, if he says that violence is on the wane, I accept that - and on the other hand will say that bigotry and intolerance has increased.

Take care.

Religion, politics has been a main part of it since the beginning else people would not have been divided on these lines. Anyways.. last post on this topic from my side, we both will be wasting our time arguing.

Take care n hv a nice weekend.

Intolerance has crept in here too !!Thanks to Amir khan episode . Chill out guys .. .
Personally ,It is about time , these Bollywood stars , became careful or mindful of comments they make regarding safety ,justice and tolerance'.They have a responsibility to the society ,that they live.in. Especially when he is aware , not all can afford the luxury of body guards and safety features , he and his family have .
For all that he would have unleashed , there may be a few fans dying for him!!
This comment I make ,as he did quote his wife Kiron regarding , how unsafe it is here in India to live .? India may be worse off ,for many reasons .. But safety wise , any country in the world is equally unsafe these days .
Just sharing my thoughts ,a peripheral view .
I wouldn't waste my time defending him and argue out on view points ,He is a showman ,he knows well to look after himself and best manner to sell his product ' .If not ,he would not be where he is .
His remarks of safety , and justice , were all in some form directed at someone else .Wish in the same manner , he was mindful ' of what he spoke and rather infused thoughts of harmony regarding 'safety and tolerance ,if he truly was concerned about these .

Wish to say-Let's not waste our precious time discussing this and create discord among us .

Happy week end .
Take care
