Looking to build a software preferably in php. What it does is send an email/ SMS to my mobile when VIX falls by x % or vix increases by x %. What I wish to do is read vix data from some source. I am ok with reading every 3-4 hours interval in a trading day or if thats not possible EOD data. even if i could read data and load it to my mysql database automatically after end of market.

From where I will get data for reading.

Any design or approach to get this done is appreciated......

1. india vix live data is available on nest trader.
2. export of this data to Amibroker charting software through link to Excel and dde data plugin is possible
3. Amibroker can continuously monitor the vix and send you email automatically as per your criteria

now/ nest provides email alert when condition is satisfied.....

If you are ok with EOD data, those are available in bhavcopy, so basically what u want is scan bhavcopy eod for vix % change and if above threshold sed an email or sms..
