Could Corona Virus lead to a never before crash?

The world is entering a volatile and unstable new phase. Scientists are increasingly confident that the COVID-19 pandemic threat will persist, possibly for years. The global economy is headed for an economic nose dive that could rival, even exceed, the Great Depression. With supply chains fragmenting, food supplies coming under strain, and prices rising, the lights are flashing red.
Not only will this translate into rising unemployment and food insecurity, but it could quickly escalate into political unrest, violence, and conflict.
A one-liner "when" would've been a great conclusion to your post.

i don't think there would be a great depression of some sort. production during the lockdown and precautionary period would reduce resulting in reduced GDPs for that year, but it doesn't mean that the "needs" are going to cease. it'd only increase. to fulfill the needs of population, businesses are going to thrive with their business strategies and adaptations to supply chains etc... so GDP is only going to go up going forward i think, globally.

for ex, the need for agri/veg products is going to rise and countries with agriculture capabilities are going to benefit from this. this would increase the profit for the farmers also going forward.

Edit: We could have averted this crisis at the beginning, but we couldn't given the lack of knowledge and being unprepared for this. Now that it has spread, until vaccination is complete, living with Covid taking the right precautions would be the life forward. which in anyway is not going to reduce the needs of population also. i think it'd be nearly impossible to completely avoid this crisis in a liberal world which give freedom to people.

IMA objects to govt’s plan to include ayurveda and yoga for COVID-19 treatment
The IMA asked the Health Minister to respond, stating that if he does not, “he is inflicting a fraud on the nation and gullible patients by calling placebos as drugs.”
https://www.thenewsminute.com/artic...e-ayurveda-and-yoga-covid-19-treatment-134947

IMA can let the people die claiming it hasn't approved a drug, but cannot allow an attempt to protect the vulnerable before catching or worsening of infection. Ayurveda is also a science which uses natural chemicals instead of synthetic ones. Yoga i think is a treatment through self-conscious self healing, which now world is agreeing beneficial for health.

To be fair they are applying the same principles that apply to any drug... You develop a drug, no matter synthetic or biogenic, prove its efficacy as per the prescribed standards and then go ahead and market it as cure... not doing so is a fraud, same as marketing crocin as corona cure...

There needs to be more testing and proven solutions, apart from setting standards for Ayurvedic drug preparation. Many local preparations have found to have high levels of mercury and arsenic (which is bad for human health) in it.

A parallel system while maintaining similar standards as allopathic research and outcomes must be set and research papers published.

Exactly! Just bcos aurveda is ancient Indian doesn’t mean it has same effect today. Take chavanprash for example; 60% of it is sugar!! No way its good for kids health. In fact its poison for already obese and prone to diabetic population.

From the link-
All products except Dabur Chyawanprash Sugar Free have more than 50% sugar. Highest percentage of sugar was in Zandu Kesari Jivan (69.9%) sugar and Organic India Chyawanprash (69.8%) while lowest percentage of sugar was in Dabur Chyawanprash Awaleha (59.6%).

some countries at initial stages used their herbs and traditional medicines to control the outbreak. their govts themselves provided the meds for citizens both as precaution and treatment. here people don't know if any traditional herb meds are available, and how to use it.. what's wrong in giving a protocol of treatment for traditional medicines. not helping and just watching the numbers waiting for the vaccine research/production to complete is actually the fraud.

i did some search... i think we had studies on the meds on the protocol.. they are useful as immunobooster, antiinflammatory antianxiety/spasmodic, reduce BP etc.
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=Tinospora+cordifolia
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=Withania+somnifera

it's true that novel cov doesn't have treatment, but people succumb not solely due to covid but other inflammations happening in the body due to Covid. If we can give enough time, body would fight against the virus at least in the healthy.

You are missing the point entirely AJK sir. No one is saying that Ayurveda doesn't do shit (pardon the French). Ayurveda helps. And so does paracetamol. Neither is the cure. If one can't be marketed legally as a cure, neither should the other. Ayurveda can be marketed as prophylactic under the current laws. And the protocol should also be called as such. What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

As for "waiting for he vaccine.... is actually the fraud" - thoroughly disagree with this impassioned, albeit erroneous statement. Different vaccines are in different phases of trials. If one hurries up and defies established protocols, it may lead to more people suffering unintended consequences of a wrongly made drug. The cure cannot be worse than the disease.
