Cheap Institutional-Grade Historical Data

Hi Guys,
We are offering institutional-quality historical NSE EOD data and Intraday data for NSE stocks and Indices. Data format would be as ASCII files, updated daily and sent through E-Mail. The data comes directly from the exchange, and can be used for extensive back-testing of EOD/Intraday systems.

Key features:
1. Institutional quality data; collected through institutional databases
2. EOD: Data going back since the stock/index inception
3. Data adjusted for corporate actions; NSE Sector indices also present
3. Intraday: high resolution 1Minute data starting from 1st July, 2013.
4. MCX data to be added soon.
5. Data will be delivered as text files, and can be processed through your custom software, MATLAB/R/SAS statistical packages, retail technical analysis software like Amibroker, etc. Let us know if you have custom format requirements, and we shall be happy to design the offering accordingly.

A lot of our trader friends are using these data packages for testing algorithmic trading systems presently; the positive response led us to open the data packages for sale. The starting rates are cheap - Rs. 1,000/month (EOD, 50 symbols) and Rs. 1,500/month (EOD+Intraday, 50 symbols). Data for all stocks is available, rates can be discussed if you need more than 50 symbols.

We are currently testing the waters, and based on the initial responses, have plans to scale our business plan much further, with an initial website design under construction among other things.

Free data downloaders do not adjust for corporate actions; say, you have a stock split from 100 to 50, you see a huge gap in the chart. Proper algorithmic systems require a back-adjusted time series, something that no data downloader does (Yahoo data is hardly usable for any real backtesting system due to hundreds of errors in any time series). Second, I'm not aware of any free data downloader that gives you intraday exchange-quality 1-minute data for free. Third, I have data for both cash and futures markets (both EOD/Intraday), something that you cannot scrape off free sources.

First, No free feed adjusts for corporate actions (stock splits, etc.). A proper back-adjusted time series is a requirement for robust algorithmic/technical analysis. Yahoo feeds are near worthless except for basic charting; hundreds of errors in prices, timestamps, etc. render it worthless for a more quantitative system. Second, our data feeds have intraday option, something which no free feed delivers in a painless form. Third, EOD/Intraday data is available for both cash and futures market. No free feed I'm aware of has futures data. Fourth, data quality is top-notch. Yes, quality matters when it does, that's an irrefutable tautology.

By saying that the data comes directly from the exchange :
Are you implying that you are an "Authorised Data Vendor" of NSE and getting it directly?? !!
A person getting/mining data from Odin, Neat or NOW can also claim that the data is 'coming' from the exchange direct so please clarify.
Data vendors a dime a dozen, how does your data stand apart from others?

You are asking for 1000 and 1500 per month for EOD and IEOD data and that too for 50 symbols, that is available for free, on internet and calling it cheap. :lol: :lol: :lol:

I am getting over 180 scrips (a mix of indices, cash and futures) 1 minute IEOD data for free.
