BSNL Broadband Speed increased to minimum 2mbps from present 516kbps. so good news for bsnl customers but frequent net disconnection , DSL drops , faulty/old lines , not sensitive staff still a problem.

TR,

BSNL connection is like having a car will run upto 200 kmps. But stops suddenly and often and garage is unreliable. Unfortunately very little choice of quality service providers. Waiting for Reliance Jio to start operations. Have seen them laying cables deep through out city of Mumbai - and Vodaphone is doing the same..... Hopefully the entry of Reliance Jio in broadband arena should wake up the competition. I am waiting for them to resume service and will sign up...

Let's hope for the best....

Reliance Jio services will be worst than BSNL. Their customer service is pathetic and they cheat their customers. I would go as far as to say BSNL is better than reliance any day.

The article is misleading. It is 2MBps, pre FUP :D
BSNL has few plans where the speed is 512, those are now 2MB.
http://telecom.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/3g-4g/bsnl-ups-broadband-speed-to-2mbps/48853646
State-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Monday raised broadband Internet speed to up to 2 Mbps of data plans with 512 Kbps and 1Mbps speeds.

This will however be effective from October 1, 2015 across the country and it will be applicable to pre-FUP (Fair Usage Policy) data consumption.

The 2Mbps speed will be available for 1GB or beyond plans and it will be throttled to 512 Kbps after reaching the cap.
