PT Bhai,

Thanks for spreading awareness.
Is there any similar act to prevent the atrocities of politicians.

I am not sure about other states but at least here in my state the current ruling party's style is this way.

Each district is controlled by a minister and the atrocity by the politician for example Land grabbing,Goon Panchayath are the main business and politics is a side business for them.

They loot the govt minerals and illegal sand quarrying etc.
They are corrupt and the court is also under their control.

TIA.

Son of DMK Chief who is a strict Gandhian and who has no criminal cases against him in the past is part of the panel of the ministers.

This is like making cat to safeguard the milk :).

But I think Anna Hazare demanded that no tainted ministers should be part of the panel.

Any how only god should save us.

8.What if some officer in Lokpal becomes corrupt? The entire functioning of Lokpal/ Lokayukta will be completely transparent. Any complaint against any officer of Lokpal shall be investigated and the officer dismissed within two months.

Dear friends across India,

In 2 days the Jan Lokpal committee will launch -- and to create maximum transparency and accountability, Anna Hazare has called for proceedings to be videoed for all of India to see. This will prevent corrupt politicians from pressing committee members to stall or bury the bill. The committee is deciding on this now. Let's send them a massive wave of messages to call for maximum transparency:

Last week Anna Hazare led a phenomenal people-powered victory to purge India of corruption. But that was just the first step -- in just 2 days the Jan Lok Pal drafting committee will hold their first meeting -- and we need all eyes on the process.

Anna Hazare has called for the all-important drafting meetings to be videoed for all of India to see -- creating maximum transparency and accountability. This will help prevent powerful and corrupt politicians from pressing, bribing or forcing committee members into back-room tricks to weaken the bill and foil our movement.

PM Singh has said he has no objection to transparency and the committee itself should decide. Let’s stand with Anna Hazare again, and call on the committee members to kick off on the right foot, and decide on maximum transparency for their proceedings at their first meeting. Click below to send a message directly to all 10 committee members:

The Jan Lokpal committee need not have secrets. There's no confidential government information that needs to be discussed, or legal reasons to have private proceedings. On the contrary, there is every reason to have transparency. Only if the public is constantly informed can we hold our representatives accountable to fulfilling the clear public will for a strong bill.

Across India, people want the Jan Lokpal bill to create a new independent body empowered to investigate abuse and punish corruption, including at the highest levels of government. But as the committee begins discussions about the scope and powers of the bill this weekend, corrupt politicians will try every trick in the book to weaken it. It would be a boon for the corrupt if the public are locked out of the meetings -- they are most powerful behind closed doors, hidden from public scrutiny. We can’t let that happen, and we won’t -- people power and momentum are on our side.

With Anna leading us, we started a movement of change -- now lakhs of people from village to village and town to town have joined, determined to reclaim our democracy. If we inundate the committee members with a massive wave of messages calling for transparency before they start discussions we can embolden Anna Hazare in his call, and convince those who are undecided. Click here to send a message to the committee members now:

The Satyagrah movement changed the course of our destiny forever. Together, standing on their shoulders, we can liberate India once more -- this time from the tyranny of corruption. If our movement stands firm, and we keep raising our voices, we will open up politics, take back our democracy and put hope back in government to serve the people of India.

Hi!

In 1947, India was Independent and Pt Nehru was it’s first PM. After over 100 years of remaining under the British Rule, an Independent citizen was expected to take one’s own decisions.

But the period under the Britishers had seen more than one generations and the Generation that came to power had one single motive and goal : Making India Independent from the British Rule. Once the country was independent that the Goal was achieved and the entire generation was now goalless.

Within few years that both USSR and China got their Freedom [?] and accepted the communism.

Nehru was extremely impressed by the Russians. Bulganin and Khrushchev of the erstwhile USSR had visited India and Nehru liked many of their policies.

He decided to start the Public Sector for the benefit of the Indian citizens. Earlier, the Zamindars use to have power that was getting mis-used. If the common man is the owner of the Public Sector units, then the common man working in such units shall be free from the nuisance of people like Zamindars.

Little did he anticipate that the so called common man working in either the Public Sector Units or even in the Politics, shall care a damn about the actual ‘Aam Admi’ and shall become a Zamindar himself to accumulate wealth in Swiss bank accounts.

His daughter went a step ahead and nationalized major banks in her time.

But then, all the political parties united together to form a Janata Party who defeated the congress party in general, and it’s suprimo Indira Gandhi, in particular.

After taking the position of power in 1977, the first thing the Janata Party rulers did was to hand-cuff Indira after she was arrested at her residence, and take her to the police station.

That…………… is basically the root cause of all the problems of ‘Aam Admi’ and the need for Anna Hajare to start the movement recently.

Indira managed to get re-elected from Chikmagalur in the seat that was vacated for her by Chandre Gowda [who incidentally, is a BJP MP from Karnataka today] and Indira was back.

In 1969, she won the elections with thumping majority and the first thing she did was get a law passed. Accordingly, all the elected politicians, bureaucrats, etc were kept above the law for common man, and if they were to be taken to court, an application was required to be made in advance, and only after it was approved that one could sue these people.

Now sky was the limit and everyone covered under that law took full advantage of ignoring the law for common man and made money. Using this money, he could buy votes from the illiterates and get re-elected for making more money that could be kept in Swiss banks.

I sincerely hope that Anna Hajare & Co demands entire removal of this law which is against the ‘Aam Admi’

I also hope that Anna Hajare & Co also demands for inclusion of the provision of voting under Rule 49-O in every ballot paper so that if all candidates are found useless [which is a case in many occasions] then one could vote under Rule 49-O. One’s vote is valid and no one gets it.

Cheers!
