I am wondering how one can "trade" and not invest in the foreign exchanges. AFAIK, the RBI has restrictions on trading any derivatives in non Indian exchanges and trading them invites sanctions.

I would be grateful if any learned members can help me get around the system in a legal way possible.

easiest way is to invest in US focused mutual fund e.g. Kotak US Equity or from DSP (research the list as I'm not invested in any of these)

Thanks These are all investing platforms. AFAIK , we can fall foul of the FEMA violations if we trade on foreign exchange derivatives such as the S&P E-Mini or the Dow Jones futures or also any commodity futures on the CBOE or the ICE exchange for that matter. It is probably another proposition altogether if we create a company for it I think. I don't know.
