Believe me friends when I narrate this tale,
I know what I'm saying because I live among them;
My house is almost on the beach per se,
so I know Nature's fury one really can't stem.
Death came like a thief in the dawn not at night,
In the form & shape of a Tidal Surge;
The earlier temors gave no insight
into what they would call Nature's scourge.
In just a minute or two the sea rose up
And rushed ashore to claim it's prey;
Nobody knew what hit them so hard,
Nobody will, not even today.
As I write I can clearly hear the continuous wails,
Is it ambulances or grieving folks I can't really say;
Bodies of innocents are being washed up ashore,
I'm helpless to do much for their souls but to pray.
Please join me all in a silent prayer,
for the dead, the missing & the living too;
The tragedy of yesterday is too much not to care,
for a people to whom a Tsunami is all too new.
