Since the profits from the stock market are employed in property(and vice-vesra) to avail of capital gains tax exemption, a property section should also be included. If you can have "Share transfer and dmat matters" why not " Money unreturned from IPO/COMPANY DEPOSITS ETC". In India, unlike SEBI, there is no regulatory authority to check property sharks who do not give possession and continously harass. I presume forums such as these would enable people to get together and collectively fight.
There were so many people who hounded chidambaram at the CNBC investor seminar that he had to state categorically that he or any other finance minister could not adress indiviudal grievances from individual queries. I think that there should be a broad investor's grievances column adequately highlighted considering the kind of laws and politicians that we have in our country with the above as sub categories. Thanks for responding so promptly.
I would emphasize the need for some kind of modus operandi for fighting investor grievances. My chartered Accountant father builds a case by correspondence- He will have at least five registerd AD letters/faxes after which he goes hammer and tongs at the defaulting company. If some forum member has contacts in the media, there can be a TV program where all this can be shown. In addition, magazines like outlook money or a new magazine called investindia can publish the proceedings of the program. As long as the evidence is complete and correct, there is nothing to fear. One can even check with the defaulting company before shaming it. This is far better and practical then going through lawyers who sometimes can be as troublesome as the defaulting company. If all this seem far fetched, there was a program on Tv called "Most Wanted" where by mere discription of criminals, 2-3 criminals got actually caught. Here the corporate criminal needs no such identification. This is the best and the fastest way. I am trying to prevail upon CNBC to introduce such a program. It should provide good education cum entertainment and have great utility value. THen only all these mass media and community forums have real meaning.
